My older daughter will turn five this Sunday. I am trying to teach her to eat with her own hands. It isn’t as though she won’t eat, but she uses two hands to break a chapati and my mother-in-law disapproves for a good reason. So I tried an innovative idea to make bite-sized chapatis which were also tempting to look at. This way she doesn’t have to use two hands to break it. One hand is enough.
What you will need:
Everyone makes chapatis or rotis or fulkas at home. Along with this, you will need cookie cutters of assorted shapes. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter.
What you will do:
Roll out the chapati in the usual fashion and use the cookie cutter to make shapes.
Roast these individual shapes on the tawa. Serve them hot with ghee.
Forgive the lighting. Mumbai these days is kinda looking like a hill station. 😉
The chill is palpable. But hot little hearts like these are sure to warm your kids up 🙂
