I always wondered what it is about these packaged foods that children love so much. Chicken nuggets is one of them. Saee loves these nuggets. I used to fry these now and then. But after a chat with some wonderful blogger friends, I got thinking. There is no way to find out what really goes in these packaged foods. The kind of meat, the preservatives, chemicals. What if we could make these at home? Would it be simple or daunting.
I was pleasantly surprised to know that not only is this recipe darned easy, it is also delicious as hell! And it got polished off the plate in minutes!
What you will need:
- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp pasta seasoning
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- salt to taste
- 1 egg
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
Cut the pieces of chicken into small cubes. Put these in a blender along with the spices, salt and cornflour. Blend it till you get a smooth paste.
Do not add any water.
Remove in a plate.
Whip one whole egg in a separate bowl.
Make small bite sized balls of the meat mixture, and dunk them in the egg wash.
Roll the popper in the bread crumbs and place aside.
Deep fry the poppers in hot oil at medium heat till golden brown. Serve hot with tomato ketchup, or homemade green chutney 😉
Watch them as they disappear before your eyes 😀
Happy Cooking!
