How hard can it be for a baby to fall asleep? I have been patting my arms thin for the last half an hour, but it took some serious singing in a pathetic voice for my baby to decide, “Enough is enough! I’ll sleep already!”
Which finally she did.
Now I can post my recipe in peace. Banshi and Ruhi, this is for you guys.
Nutella Rolls Recipe
The picture quality sucks, i agree.
- 3 cups plain flour (maida)
- 1 tbsp instant yeast* (not active dry yeast)
- 1 egg (optional)
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup nutella
Heat the milk till lukewarm and add sugar and yeast. Cover and leave aside for 10 minutes till the yeast froths.
Mix this into the plain flour along with butter and egg if you are using one. Knead well to a soft smooth dough.
Keep it covered in a deep vessel for two hours to rise.
once the dough has risen, beat the shit out of it 😛 I know it feels rotten to punch out perfectly risen dough but you have got to do it.
Now roll the dough to about 1/4 of an inch thickness in a rectangular shape. Spread the nutella as evenly as possible on this.
Apply a little water to one edge of the dough. Start rolling from the other edge. Seal the moistened edge.
Cut the dough roll in even sized pieces and place them in a greased baking tin with the cut surface on top. If you want rounded rolls, place them apart. If you want pull apart rolls, place them close together.
Cover and let rise for ten to fifteen minutes more.
Meanwhile get your oven going to reach a temperature of 200 degrees.
after ten minutes, use a thin flat brush to apply milk on top of the rolls (This step is optional)
Place in the preheated oven and let bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or till the tops appear evenly browned.
Remove and top with chopped toasted hazelnuts for that extra crunch.
And crave till you make them again next time 😀
