Remember my post about do-it-yourself lip balm? Well here comes another in the line of do-it-yourself cosmetics.
I can sing hymns in the praise of this scrub.
First of all, it’s easy to make. I made mine in five minutes.
Secondly, it uses all ingredients that are available in your home. Nothing fancy schmancy here.
Third… it is super darned effective!!!
How do I love thee, oatmeal scrub, let me count the ways…
1. Oatmeal is an all natural scrub, which gently cleans and scrubs away dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling super smooth, satiny and soft.
2. Chocolate is a natural antioxidant (all the more reasons to eat chocolate) Which means that chocolate has anti-aging properties. That, and it leaves this lovely glow on your face, and it smells divine.
3. Sugar is also a natural gentle scrub which cleanses your skin from deep within.
4. Cream/Milk – a great natural moisturizer.
Now that I have waxed eloquent about this scrub, let’s just see how I made it.
- ½ cup instant oats
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
Zip the oats in your blender along with sugar till they are well and truly pulverized. Now add the cocoa powder and zip them some more. That’s it! Your scrub mix is ready. Store in an airtight container.
How to use:
Mix 1 tsp of the oatmeal chocolate scrub with 1 tsp of milk and or a few drops of honey. Mix them into a paste and use as a scrub. Follow with a fuller’s earth pack.
Happy DIYing folks!!!
